Your 16 weeks starts from the moment you enrol โ€” not from when your results arrive. While your kit is in transit and your sample is being processed, we don't just wait. The first few weeks are dedicated to foundation work: stabilising blood sugar, improving digestion and gut integrity, reducing the most common mineral antagonists in your diet, and building the daily habits that make your body actually ready to absorb and use the minerals we'll be targeting once your results are in. Think of it as preparing the soil before planting. By the time your HTMA results arrive โ€” typically 2โ€“4 weeks in โ€” your body is already in a far better position to respond to a targeted protocol. The lab processing window doesn't cost you time. It becomes part of the plan.

It means your body has been exposed to something over time (often through food, water, or everyday environment) and your tissues have been storing it. The important thing is that we now know, and we can work with it. Depending on what your results show, we'll build a gentle, food-first approach to supporting your body's natural elimination pathways โ€” increasing mineral cofactors that compete with heavy metals, supporting liver and gut function, and adjusting your protocol to avoid anything that might mobilise metals too quickly. If your results show something that warrants medical follow-up, I will always refer you to your healthcare provider rather than attempt to manage that within a wellness coaching scope. Your safety comes before the program. Having a plan is always better than not knowing.
Yes, but timing matters. Hair dye, bleach, perms, and chemical relaxers can affect the mineral readings in treated hair โ€” so we need to work with untreated growth. The rule of thumb is to wait at least 4 weeks after your last colour or treatment before collecting your sample, and we always take hair from the root end (the 3โ€“4cm closest to your scalp), which reflects the most recent and most reliable data. If you've recently had a treatment, we'll note it on your intake form and factor it into how we interpret your results. In some cases where hair is heavily processed throughout, I may recommend waiting a full growth cycle before testing โ€” I'll let you know after reviewing your intake. Either way, it won't hold up your program start; we can begin the foundational work while we wait for the right testing window.
